Youth Baseball/ Softball
COACHES NEEDED!!! The Parks & Recreation Department is looking for individuals that like to work with kids and can teach the basics of the game! Coaching experience not necessary.
Start Smart (4 years old)
6 Week program
June- mid - July
Introduce children to the game of baseball and start developing their fundamentals.
T-ball (5 - 6 years old)
In this co-ed instructional league players will be taught the fundamentals of baseball, sportsmanship, and team work. All players will bat equal amounts. Ten game season. The season will run May through mid - July.
8U (8 years and under)
In this Co-ed instructional league coaches will pitch. Players will continue to work on fundamentals of baseball with more emphasis on the game rules/ format. Ten game season with a few games being played in surrounding communities. This season will run May through mid - July
10U (10 years and under)
In this league boys and girls will play seperatly in either 10u Baseball or 10u Softball. Players will begin to pitch in this league. An emphasis will be put on developing skills and game rules, with score being kept. Half of the games will be played in Frankenmuth and the other half in surrounding communities. A tournament will be played after the regular season as well. This season will run mid- April through the end of June.
12U Boys and 12U Girls
In this league boys and girls will continue to play in either 12u baseball or 12u softball. The players will continue to pitch and keep score and emphasis game rules and help players understand the game. Half of the games will be play in Frankenmuth and the other half in surrounding communities. A tournament will be played after the regular season as well. This season will run mid-April through the end of June.
Pony League (13 & 14 yr old Boys) and 14U Girls
This competitive league is for boys or girls in their respective groups that are 13 and 14 years old. The season is a total of 10 games running mid- April through the end of June. Some games will be played in town and some in surrounding communities.
