Frankenmuth Parks & Recreation hosts several festivals throughout the year. The following is a list of annual festivals and major public events in the parks.

80’s Fest - Mid April - Bring back totally awesome memories by celebrating the music, trends and events of the 1980’s. So find those stonewashed jeans, tease your hair, and grab your friends because this is your chance to relive the 80's at the annual Bringin’ Back the 80’s celebration! Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society and other cancer related causes. Check www.80sFest.org for details and schedule.

Walk MS - Mid May - Join this fun walking event to help raise funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. www.nationalmssociety.org/Get-Involved

World Expo of Beer (WEB)- Mid-May - The World Expo of Beer is a beer sampling extravaganza! If you love beer, you will love the World Expo of Beer, with over 250 brews to choose from. If you don’t love beer, but you love a good time, you will still enjoy the live entertainment and alternative beverages at the World Expo of Beer. The event is run by the Frankenmuth Jaycees, as a fundraiser for the community! Check out www.worldexpoofbeer.com

Volkslaufe July 4 - German for “The People’s Race,” this is a festival of running races that start and finish in Heritage Park. The festival also includes fireworks. www.volkslaufe.org

Antique Fire Muster – last Saturday in July - Antique fire truck displays and pumping events. Parade of trucks through downtown on Saturday. www.gliafaa.org

Summer Music Fest – Mid-August -A celebration of polka music, to dance to on a wooden floor. Food, drinks, souvenirs and lots of fun. www.frankenmuthfestivals.com

Auto Festweekend after Labor Day - Enjoy many activities and attractions for you and your family during this classic car weekend! There's plenty to do with thousands of classic cars and street rods, entertainment, food, vendors, crafts and family fun. Friday evening is the “Block Party” on Main St. Saturday the car show is in Heritage Park with the “Oldies Tent” that night. The show wraps up on Sunday with awards. www.frankenmuthautofest.com

Oktoberfest - late September - Oktoberfest is a traditional German celebration that is based on the sixteen-day festival that originated in Munich in 1810. Enjoy authentic German food, drinks, souvenirs and great entertainment. www.frankenmuthfestivals.com

Bike MS - late September - Cyclists may choose to ride one or two days in this fundraising cycling event that starts and finishes in Heritage Park. Bike MS is for cyclists and all those seeking a personal challenge and a world free of MS. Get ready for a ride of your life. www.nationalmssociety.org/Get-Involved

Michigan's Big Country Fest - October - Slip on your cowboy boots, tip your hat, and swing on over to Michigan’s Big Country Fest! Enjoy live bands, mechanical bull, BBQ, and line dancing. www.BigCountryFest.com
