Junction and S. Dehmel Roads Water Main Replacement Project
Starting the week of April 23rd, construction will begin on the Junction Road transmission water main replacement project and the South Dehmel Road water main replacement project. The project consists of installing 10,700 feet of 20 inch pvc pipe and directionally drilling 3,000 feet of fusible 20 inch pvc pipe on Junction Road between W. Tuscola and S. Dehmel. On South Dehmel Road between Junction and West Tuscola 2,000 feet of 12 inch pvc pipe will be installed. The projects should be completed by the early fall of 2018.
In September the north elevated water tower on W. Schleier Street will be getting an exterior overcoat and miscellaneous repairs done to it. Water customers north of the Cass River will experience lower water pressure during this time.
Past Water Projects
Cherry Street and E. School Water Main Replacement
Replaced 1,100 feet of 6 inch cast iron pipe. The City Water Department and Public Works Department did the project in an effort to save the City money.
S. Franklin Street Water Main Replacement
Replaced 1,649 feet of 6 inch cast iron pipe from W. Genesee to S. Franklin Street.
Heine Street Water Main Replacement
Replaced 800 feet of 6 inch cast iron pipe from W. Ardussi west 800 feet.
Trinklein Street Water Main Replacement
Replaced 1,800 feet of 6 inch cast iron pipe from W. Genesee Street to Beyerlein.
Mary Lane and Court Water Main Replacement
Replaced 763 feet of 6 inch cast iron pipe from W. Tuscola to 150 west of Mary Lane Court including 163 feet of 6 inch cast iron pipe on Mary Lane Court.
Main Street River Crossing
Replaced 740 feet of 8” cast iron pipe under the Cass River.
