Yard Waste Program Begins April 4
Starting April 4, City of Frankenmuth residents will begin receiving weekly yard waste services as part of their curbside solid waste collection program. Resident will no longer need to purchase special tags for yard waste. All yard waste materials must be placed in paper yard waste bags or in 20 gallon or smaller garbage cans with handles that have a "Yard Waste" sticker affixed to the front of the can. Yard waste stickers are available at City Hall and if you're purchasing a can, at GilRoy's and True Value.
Yard Waste rules:
Twigs must not protrude more than 12" above the container.
Individual cans and bags cannot weigh more than 50 pounds each (a good idea to keep the lid on so the materials does not get wet)
Brush greater than 2" in diameter should be set out the first Monday of the month for brush pick up. Twigs and small sticks should be placed out in a container or bag for yard waste pick up.
The City will continue to pick up brush (greater than 2 inches in diameter) the first Monday of each month from April through November. Leaf pickup by City crews will continue to happen in the fall. Please do not place leaf piles at the curb now. We cannot pick them up.
