On Wednesday, May 16, the City of Frankenmuth hosted representatives from the City of Hastings for Mayor Exchange. The event is designed to help us learn first hand how communities of similar size tackle issues, address challenges and find solutions. A delegation including Hastings Mayor, City Manager and a number of council members and staff visited Frankenmuth for the day. Included in our exchange day itenerary were a stop at Wickson District Library to speak with Pam Williams, the incoming director and a tour of the Historical Museum before lunch at Zehnder’s. A number of our local businesses helped make the day a succes, including: Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland, Zehnder’s, Bavarian Inn, Frankenmuth Fudge Kitchen, Star of the West, the Frankenmuth News, Frankenmuth Printing, the Popcorn Wagon, and Rau’s Country Store.
On Monday, April 26, the City of Frankenmuth visited the City of Hastings with Mayor Gary Rupprecht, Mayor Pro Tem Carl Schoenow, Council Members Joe Cramer, Beth Bernthal Reindel, and Vickie Schmitzer.
