NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

FOR MICHIGAN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDING FOR WEISS STREET INFRASTRUCTURE

AND PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS

 The City of Frankenmuth will conduct a public hearing on April 7, 2020 at 7 pm for the purpose of affording citizens an opportunity to examine and submit comments on the proposed application for a CDBG grant.

 The meeting is being held electronically in accordance with the Open Meetings Act in an effort to protect the health and safety of the public. Members of the public wishing to participate in the meeting may do so by utilizing Join Zoom Meeting or dialing into the meeting at the conference call dial-in numbers provided below. A link will also be provided on the City’s website, frankenmuthcity.com.  The City of Frankenmuth proposes to use $955,775 in CDBG funds to provide redundancy in water service to the Bavarian Inn Lodge, to construct additional parking and related infrastructure improvements and to facilitate investment in a 70,500 square foot indoor water park addition and jobs will be created, with at least 51% to be held by low to moderate income persons. No persons will be displaced as a result of the proposed activities.

Comments may be submitted in writing through April 7, 2020 or made at the public hearing.

 In 2013, the City of Frankenmuth applied for and received CDBG funds to build the Frankenmuth Splash Village Sanitary Sewer Project and the Kremin Inc. Infrastructure Project. The Splash project was closed out in 2014; the Kremin project in 2017.

 Citizen views and comments on the proposed application are welcome.
