All recruits attend the departments PPCT (pressure point control tactics) / defensive tactics instruction from our departments certified instructor, Officer Rob Neilson. Officer Neilson is a certified instructor from PPCT Management and is also a certified ground fighting instructor. Recruits receive training on the use of force continuum and the proper use of pressure points, control tactics, handcuffing and batons.
Each recruit will be supplied with a training baton, training "blue" gun that matches our department weapon, training handcuffs, and a safety strike pad.
Upon completion of the course each recruit becomes certified in PPCT through PPCT Management. Each officer of the department will annually recertify once per year.
