Recruiting 2013: Do you have what it takes to wear this blue?

"Building the Recruit Class of 2014"

The Frankenmuth Police Department is recruiting for the fall 2013 season! Our department is looking for qualified individuals of all ages and backgrounds to become part of the best team of Reserve Police Officers in Michigan. This years Reserve Academy starts November 2, 2013. If you possess the skills and qualities to wear this blue, the time to begin is now!

Recruiting officers have begun the review process of the applications currently on file and will begin to host recruiting tables in our neighboring communities hosted by local colleges; Delta College, Saginaw Valley State University and Mott Community College in Flint. If you meet the requirements explained on our recruiting page, we encourage you to visit our recruiting staff, or send your application to our department for review.

You do not have to be a student to visit our recruiting staff or partake in our recruiting process!!

We encourage all those who interviewed last year to reapply with us again this year. The interviewing process for this position is both intensive and competitive. There were many well qualified candidates that may have missed the scoring cut off by only a few points. We recognize that a lot can happen to an individual over a year's time.

Our recruiting process will end on Thursday, September 19, 2013.

All applications must be received by this date for consideration.

Background Process

Having passed the interview, each applicant will be invited to a background investigation meeting held on September 23, 2013, at the Frankenmuth Police Department. The background packet will passed out and explained by staff.

Physical Fitness Screening

After turning in the background investigation packet, candidates will participate in a physical fitness screening. This is similar to the fitness screening that MCOLES would conduct on a candidate who wishes to become a certified police officer in the State of Michigan. It is comprised of a jump, push-ups, sit-ups and a 1/2 mile shuttle run.

For specifics on the screening including minimum standards, how to complete these exercises and how to practice each exercise, visit the MCOLES Website.

Final Oral Board Interviews

Those successful in our background and evaluation phase will be invited to the department for a formal interview with a panel of officers from our reserve unit and police department command structure. These interviews will be held on October 16th and 17th, 2013.

Academy Information

The reserve academy will begin with orientation day on October 19, 2013 and begin with day one on November 2, 2013.
