State law requires that yard waste be kept separate from refuse. Grass clippings, hedge trimmings, leaves, vegetation, or smaller twigs that can be bagged, may be placed into a plastic bag, no larger than 33 gallons. The bags will be collected every Tuesday and must be placed by the curbside before 7:00 A.M. Requests for this collection must be pre-arranged. Each bag must have a green "City of Frankenmuth Tag" attached or it will not be collected. Each green tag costs $4.25 and may be purchased at the City Office, Gill-Roy's Hardware, Kroger and Frankenmuth True Value. Please leave your name, address, telephone number and number of bags with the City's yard waste contractor, Timber Oaks, at 882-1167 (a LOCAL CALL), up to 7:00 P.M. on the Monday prior to the Tuesday collection date desired. This service is available from Tuesday, March 21, 2017 through Tuesday, November 14, 2017. As an alternative, residents may also contact Putt, Inc. in Freeland (989-496-2335) who accepts yard waste materials for a fee. Please contact them for further information. Disposal of yard waste from the spring and summer seasons must follow these yard waste collection regulations. Look for a special fall leaf collection announcement in the Frankenmuth News listing dates for this special collection.
